Marketproof MCP
Setup guide

Connected in five minutes.

Everything from creating your account to your AI agent answering its first NYC real estate question, with a screenshot at every step. Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot Studio, and anything else that speaks MCP.

1

Go to the site

Open mcp.marketproof.com and click Get started, in the top-right corner or in the hero.

2

Create your account

Any email address works. Enter it, pick a password, and you're in.

Already a Marketproof Pro customer? Sign in with the same email you use for Pro. Your MCP access activates automatically the first time you sign in, no separate registration needed.

3

Add credits

Capability calls are paid for with credits, so your account needs some before your AI agent can pull data. Open Credits in the sidebar and pick a pack. There is no subscription: you pay only for what you use, and credits never expire.

4

Create a Connection

A Connection is a set of credentials that lets one AI agent reach Marketproof MCP. Open Connections in the sidebar and click New Connection. Name it after the agent it will serve ("Claude", "ChatGPT", "Claude Desktop") so your usage stays easy to read later. You can create as many as you like, one per agent is the clean setup.

When you click Create, your credentials appear: a Client ID and a Client Secret.

The secret is shown only once. Copy both values somewhere safe before you leave the page. If you lose the secret, you don't need a new Connection: the rotate action issues a fresh secret for the same Client ID.

Connect your AI agent

Open Connect AI in the sidebar. The guided flow asks which agent you're connecting, pairs it with a Connection, and then shows the exact clicks for that platform, ending with a test you can run to confirm everything works.

Step one of the wizard: pick your agent.

Whichever platform you pick, the ingredients are always the same three values:

In Claude, that means adding a custom connector in Settings > Connectors and pasting the three values. In ChatGPT, it's a connector under Settings > Connectors with the same values. The wizard shows the current click path for each platform, so follow it rather than memorizing menus. There are dedicated walkthroughs for Claude (Claude.ai and the Claude Desktop app) and ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise).

6

Ask your first question

Open a fresh chat with your agent and ask something concrete. Good first prompts:

"What sold in Tribeca in the last 90 days over $3M?"
"Pull five comps for a 2-bedroom at The Camden, 244 East 41st Street, and suggest a list price."
"Find ten long-tenure Upper East Side condo owners showing sell signals and draft a first note for each."

The first time your agent calls a Marketproof capability, it may ask you to approve the connection. Approve it once and you're off. To see the kind of finished deliverables agents produce from prompts like these, browse the worked examples.

Troubleshooting

"Insufficient credits"

Your balance hit zero. Buy a pack on the Credits page, or turn on auto-recharge so it doesn't happen mid-analysis.

Lost the Client Secret

Secrets are shown once and can't be recovered. Open the Connection and rotate the secret, then paste the new one into your agent. The Client ID stays the same.

"Tool not allowed"

The Connection's permissions exclude that capability. Open the Connection and toggle it on, or set the default policy to allow all.

Agent can't see Marketproof

Re-check the three values: the server URL is https://mcp.marketproof.com/tools, and the ID and secret belong to the same Connection. Still stuck? Contact us and we'll get you sorted.
