Connect ChatGPT to Marketproof MCP.

Grab your credentials

In your Marketproof console, open Connect AI, choose ChatGPT, and pair it with a Connection. The wizard hands you the three values ChatGPT needs, each with a copy button, plus the exact click path for your plan (Individual, Business, or Enterprise):

Plan check: creating custom MCP apps requires ChatGPT Plus or Pro on a personal account. On Business, an admin creates and publishes the app for the workspace; on Enterprise and Edu, an admin grants developer mode under Workspace Settings first.

Create the app in ChatGPT

Now in ChatGPT, in a separate tab:

Click your profile at the bottom-left and choose Settings.

Turn on Developer mode. Under Security and login, flip on Developer mode. ChatGPT labels it "elevated risk"; that is standard for any custom MCP server.

Create the plugin. Open Plugins and start a new plugin. Name it Marketproof, set the Connection to the Server URL https://mcp.marketproof.com/tools, and choose OAuth as authentication.

Paste your credentials. Expand Advanced OAuth settings, choose User-Defined OAuth Client, paste the Client ID and Client Secret from step 1, leave the token endpoint method on client_secret_post, acknowledge the custom-server notice, and click Create.

On a personal Plus or Pro account the app is available in your chats immediately, no publish step. On Business, an admin creates it under Workspace Settings and publishes it from Drafts before members see it.

Use it in a chat

In any conversation, type @Marketproof, or click + and choose More, then select Marketproof. The first time, ChatGPT opens a Marketproof sign-in and consent screen; approve it and the connection is live for your account.

Try it

Ask something concrete to confirm the pipeline end to end:

"@Marketproof What sold in Williamsburg in the last 90 days over $1.5M?"

"@Marketproof Pull the building profile and recent sales for 244 East 41st Street."

If something doesn't work

No developer mode option

Custom MCP apps need ChatGPT Plus or Pro. On Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspaces, an admin has to enable developer mode and publish the app.

App stops responding or tools look stale

Open Action control for the app and click Refresh so ChatGPT re-reads the tool list, then re-authorize if prompted.

"Insufficient credits"

Your Marketproof balance hit zero. Top up on the Credits page, or enable auto-recharge.

Lost the Client Secret

Rotate it in the Marketproof console under the Connection, then update the app in ChatGPT with the new secret. Contact us if anything else is stuck.
